During the initial mission trips, the Mountain of Hope team recognized that when people are healed, when they are fed and given something to drink, they are more receptive to things beyond their subsistence. They began to experience and seek the knowledge of the Lord, as revealed through the mission team's service. Quince de Enero's families know and trust that Mountain of Hope cares for the whole person, for their physical and their spiritual well being. And that they are there to stay.

The ministry in Quince de Enero goes well beyond the medical, dental, vision and veterinary needs. Mountain of Hope strives to incorporate their Christian faith into every aspect of their interaction with the villagers. Each day begins with a prayer circle of up to 150 people. Doctors and team members pray with the people they serve. Vacation Bible School has been held each day of the mission since 1993. The mission gives hope to the people of honduras.

God works in the hearts of the Honduran people, and the people who serve on the mission trips. Many go with minimal commitment to the Christian faith, but return home with their lives transformed.
