The need…Our children are sick. This simple plea changed the heart and the vision of the Honduras Mission. After praying and surrendering their vision to God, a local doctor called and committed to going on the first medical mission to Quince de Enero. God was at work in the details. Next, a local dentist contacted them and volunteered his help. In less than a year, a 19 member medical team, equipped with medicines and supplies, returned to Honduras and cared for over 500 people in just five days.

Within five years, the 19 member team grew to 60 people making the annual trip, serving roughly 3,000 people during the five day mission. Many families walked for hours from neighboring villages for the chance to see a doctor, dentist and optical team, receiving the donated medicines they needed from the mission pharmacy.

One of the biggest surprises many volunteers experience while serving in Honduras is the life-altering power of Christ. When people dedicate their gifts and talents in service as God created them to serve, they experience a deep sense of joy. That's why you were given your talents… to serve others. They weren't meant to be kept to yourself.
