  Our water was unsafe

During one of the annual mission trips, a microbiologist team member tested the water supply in two villages. It was heavily contaminated, resulting in diarrhea, dehydration, and sometimes even death. Infant mortality was high. With the help of Rotary Clubs in Lake Mary and San Pedro Sula, Mountain of Hope drilled a clean well. Within months, the villagers who chose to drink from the clean water source became noticeably healthier.

Today, for the first time in history, six wells and two miles of pipe have been installed, bringing clean water to families' homes in Quince de Enero and neighboring Dos de Julio. Recently, a clean well and water distribution system was also installed in the neighboring village of Santa Rosita. Rather than simply treating the diseases people contract, Mountain of Hope is now treating the problem at its source.
